Amaya Laucirica

Amaya Laucirica is an Australian singer/songwriter whose music combines the swirling contours of Cocteau Twins with the wistful melodies of The Go-Betweens.

Since 2008, she has released five critically acclaimed albums including Sugar Lights, Early Summer in 2010 (which was selected by Triple J Radio as their Feature Album) Sway in 2014, and Rituals in 2018 (featured as one of Rough Trade’s (UK) Albums of the month). In 2025, Amaya released her fifth album ,”The Blue Hour”. Her most eclectic  recording to date signals a departure in style featuring orchestral arrangements, electronic beats, and hi-fi pop production.

In 2011, she was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the ten exciting new female voices in Australian music. She was also nominated as female artist of the year at The Age EG awards.

Amaya has played and toured extensively, sharing bills with Blonde Redhead, Mark Lanegan, Adalita and Jonathan Bree. She has performed at Primavera Sound (Spain), North by Northeast (Canada), Dark Mofo, National Gallery of Victoria, QAGOMA and Melbourne Music Week. Amaya’s music has featured in TV and film such as The Slap – ABC, Reef Break – ABC, Friday Night Lights – NBC, and Summer Coda. She has made television appearances on RocKwiz (SBS) and Sunday Arts (ABC).
