Amaya Laucirica
Biography
Since her 2008 debut, “Sugar Lights”, Amaya Laucirica has undertaken several national tours also playing solo throughout Germany and Spain supporting renowned acts such as Blonde Redhead, Mark Lanegan & Jonathan Bree.
Her second release, ‘Early Summer” (2010) was selected by Triple J as their “Album of the Week” while 2014’s “Sway” continued to receive regular radio play from the national broadcaster as well as community radio across the country. With a touring band that includes members of Mick Harvey’s band, she has been lauded by the likes of Adalita often performing alongside the Magic Dirt frontwoman on various tours. Her most recent album, “Rituals”, was released internationally in 2018 on UK label Opposite Number and locally via Kasumuen Records. It was Rough Trade’s “Album of the Month” and supported by a tour of the UK and Europe including performances at The Great Escape Festival (UK) and Primavera Sound (Spain) as well as a performance at Dark Mofo & GoMA in Australia.
